Recording of Iain McGilchrist & Alastair McIntosh in conversation
‘On the second day of Christmas, my true love sent to me…
Two Scots sages drinking whisky!’
At some point in my childhood, as an antidote to the rush of torn wrapping paper on Christmas afternoon, my parents took to spreading out gifts over the twelve days of Christmas. Each day, you’d pick one parcel to open.
As I was getting ready to go offline for the closing days of 2023, I realised that I had a collection of recordings and invitations left to pass on to readers. Not enough to make for a post a day, you may be glad to hear, but still worth scattering across a few posts.
So this is the first of those scheduled posts – a recording of the conversation between Iain McGilchrist and Alastair McIntosh that took place a week ago. You can read more about the story behind this conversation in my original post, ‘Without a Forceful Mind’.
Congratulations to
and for putting on an excellent event.I’ll be back at my desk from 10 January, 2024. Meanwhile, I wish all readers of Writing Home a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Very much looking forward to listening to this conversation. Thank you, Dougald, for posting some really thought provoking and stimulating posts this year. It has been a rich feast!
Oh thank you so much for posting this, Dougald. And a joyous year's turning to you.
